The first nets

Cracking Willows began as a pipe dream of Rufus Gandhi back in 2009 soon after he moved to Singapore. Having given up playing following the arrival of his twins in 2006, Rufus decided to try some nets and was joined by Sandeep U, who had also recently moved to Singapore from India.
The club grew from those early net sessions into a Singapore cricket community built around competitive fixtures, weekend cricket, friendships, and the simple pleasure of keeping the game alive for players and families.

Since
2009
From a handful of net sessions to a settled Singapore cricket community, these milestones trace how Cracking Willows kept growing around players, families, and weekend cricket.

Cracking Willows started with Rufus Gandhi returning to cricket in Singapore and Sandeep U joining those early practice sessions. What began as a small group at the nets became the foundation of the club.

The team grew into a dependable weekend cricket group, bringing together players, families, and friends around competitive fixtures and a stronger club culture.

With regular matches and a broader player base, Cracking Willows became a familiar cricket home for members who wanted good cricket and a welcoming community.

The club continued to evolve with new players, refreshed teams, and the same simple idea that started it all: keep cricket active, competitive, and enjoyable in Singapore.
